QuikSCAT sigma-0 measurements at the locations of tau bouys (1999-2007) subdirectories contain gzipped text files with one-line per entry for measurements with 1 deg of the nominal tau bouy locations. For valid sigmao0 values each line contains lat,lon,sig(dB),az_ang,inc_ang,dist,time_code,pol(h=1,v=2),date_code,rev where date code=YYMMDDHHmm for the start of the rev and the time code is the number of seconds since the start of the rev. Thus, the time a measurement is taken is the decoded date_code+time_code. Dist is the distance in deg from the nearest nominal tau bouy location. Each gzipped daily file is about 1/2 MB. All available valid measurements for each day are included. The .tar files in the main directory are the tar'ed up subdirectories and provided for convenience in downloading. The tar files are about 195 MB each, except for the first year with is 89 MB. For questions contact Dr. David G.
